Magdalene Gabriella of Canossa was born at Verona, Italy on 1st March 1774. When five, she lost her father. At seven, she was abandoned by her mother who remarried. She was then entrusted to a Governess who did not understand her and caused her to suffer much.
The special aim of the Daughters of Charity of Canossa is to prepare young girls and boys entrusted to their care, for life, family and the nation with due emphasis on the formation of the person by an integrated approach to Moral, intellectual, Physical and Social formation of the individual child, irrespective of religion, race, caste, community, language or social status. The medium of education is English and Value Education and Moral Science forms an important subject. The spiritual formation aims at imparting to the students the awareness of the presence of God within and around them and that all are God’s children.
Canossa Convent School Was started as a primary school for girls in 1960. It was recognized in 1964. Co-education was started in 1975. This school has been established and administered by Canossian Daughters of Charity. The school is under the religious jurisdiction of Bishop of Nasik.
